On its release, True Blue reached number one in twenty-eight countries. The five singles released from the True Blue Album reached the number 1 in the UK or the US singles chart. "Papa Don't Preach" was number 1 in UK and US, "Open Your Heart" and "live to Tell" were number 1 in The US and "La Isla Bonita" and "True Blue" reached number one in the Uk list. "Open Your Heart" was produced by Madonna and Patrick Leonard. The video was directed by Jean-Baptiste Mondino.
